This Privacy Policy explains how Gide apps, websites, books, guides, and related services handle information.
Last Updated: July 2026
Introduction
Gide is a family of applications, websites, books, guides, and resources designed to provide guidance, support, education, encouragement, safety awareness, and personal well-being tools.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Gide websites, applications, downloads, and related services operated by Trusted Stranger.
Information We Collect
We strive to collect as little personal information as possible. Many Gide applications are designed to function without requiring users to create an account.
Depending on the application, website, or feature used, information may include:
- App preferences and settings
- Saved favorites, bookmarks, or progress
- Notification preferences
- Theme, accessibility, and display preferences
- Basic diagnostic, crash, or performance information
- Information you choose to submit through a contact form
- Email address, if you choose to contact us or sign up for updates
Much of this information may be stored locally on your device and used only to provide app functionality.
Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
Unless specifically required by a feature you choose to use, we do not intentionally collect:
- Your phone number
- Your precise location
- Your contacts
- Financial account information
- Government identification numbers
- Health records or medical files
- Passwords or login credentials for other services
Contact Forms and Email
If you submit a contact form or send us an email, we may receive your name, email address, message, and any other information you choose to include.
We use this information to respond to your message, provide support, answer questions, and improve Gide resources and services.
How Information Is Used
Information may be used to provide application features, maintain user preferences, improve performance, deliver notifications you choose to receive, respond to support requests, and improve the user experience.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, Gide applications may send reminders, alerts, encouragement, educational content, or other app-related notifications. You may disable notifications at any time through the app or your device settings.
Data Storage
Depending on the application or service, information may be stored locally on your device or through trusted service providers used to support app, website, contact, hosting, analytics, diagnostic, or delivery functions.
If you uninstall an application, locally stored information may also be removed from your device.
Third-Party Services
We may use trusted third-party providers for app distribution, hosting, analytics, diagnostics, crash reporting, email delivery, form submissions, payment processing, and related services.
These providers may process limited technical or contact information according to their own privacy policies.
Formspree
Gide may use Formspree to process contact form submissions. If you submit a form through the website, the information you provide may be processed by Formspree so the message can be delivered to us.
Apple App Store and App Platforms
Gide applications may be distributed through the Apple App Store or other app platforms. Those platforms may collect and process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information.
Application-Specific Features
Individual Gide applications may include additional functionality and privacy considerations specific to that app. Where necessary, app-specific privacy information may be provided within the application or on the application’s website or app store listing.
Gide — Legacy: Additional Privacy Details
Where your memories are stored. Your memories — stories, photos, video, audio, and documents — are stored on your device and, if you choose to connect it, in your own Google Drive account. Trusted Stranger does not host, store, or have access to the contents of your memories on our servers. Your vault is encrypted on your device.
Device permissions. With your permission, Gide — Legacy uses your camera, microphone, and photo/file library solely to let you capture and add memories. This content is saved only to your vault; it is not sent to us.
Google Sign-In. If you use family sharing, you sign in with Google via Firebase Authentication. We receive a Google-issued account identifier to establish your identity across your devices. We never receive your Google password.
Google Drive. If you connect Google Drive, Gide — Legacy accesses only the files it creates using the drive.file scope to store and share your memories. It cannot see the rest of your Drive.
Family sharing. When you create or join a Shared Family Vault, we store membership information only — your chosen display name, your role, a link (URL) to the memories you publish, seat/membership counts, and invitation codes. We do not store your actual memories, photos, audio, or documents. Memories you mark as “shared” are published to your own Google Drive with “anyone with the link” access so that invited family members can view them; do not mark as shared anything you would not want accessible to someone with that link.
Purchases. The one-time Family License and optional membership packs are processed by Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your purchase status; we never receive or store your payment card details.
On-device processing. Text recognition from photos and speech-to-text run entirely on your device. This content is not sent to us.
Deleting your data. You can remove memories in the app, leave or be removed from a family, which deletes your membership record from our licensing service, and uninstalling the app removes the local vault from your device.
Third-party services. Family features rely on Google Sign-In, Google Drive, Google Play billing, Firebase, and RevenueCat. Each has its own privacy policy.
Children’s Privacy
Gide applications, websites, books, and resources are not directed toward children under 13 unless specifically stated otherwise. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Choices
You may adjust application settings, disable notifications, delete saved content where available, unsubscribe from optional communications, or uninstall an application at any time.
Data Security
We use reasonable efforts to protect information handled through Gide applications, websites, and related services. However, no digital service, website, application, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be fully secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
